Presentation - Anke Classen

Anke Classen (1957)

Of Dutch origin, I received my training at the Graduate School of Arts in Arnhem (the Netherlands).

In 1979 I moved to the south-west of France, where I have been working since as a painter-illustrator-creative in different fields:

First as a product-designer, I co-managed a wholesale business in natural decorative objects.

In the ‘90’s, I was responsable for the concept/design and installation of exhibition stands, mainly for “Maison et Objet” in Paris.Via these activities in interior design, I moved towards creative imaging with the realisation of fresco’s, ordered essentially for homes and estates, I produced bookcovers and illustrated different children's stories.

My interest in the relationship between imagery and psychologie with a possible commercial link, caused me to also work in advertising.

I am, outside these activities, above all a painter.

Mainly figurative, my work is exploring forms of visual rythmics by colour, settings, patterns and structures, or other.
